An Instagram Goodbye to Summer

Oct 2014

October has snuck up as quietly as a church mouse. This year New Englanders were lucky enough to extend their summer right through last weekend. Now, the weather has turned and it’s truly time for an Instagram Goodbye to Summer. I love being able to stroll through my feed and see all the good food and lovely places from the Summer of 2014. Here are my top 10 highlights.

When I think back to the weather, it was pretty spectacular. 4th of July weekend brings the start of summer and this weekend was no exception. It’s the one time of year when my whole family is together on Nantucket. Boating, swimming, fishing-epic start to finish.

Come fly out west and explore with me. What a variety America has to offer coast to coast. Heading to the west coast for a wedding on Vancouver Island was a photographers delight. The changing scenery helped the time pass quickly.

Cherries anyone? Guess what season it is in the Northwest. These Rainer cherries from Granville Market were gone in a flash. So sweet!

I love ferry travel-anything to get me on the water! My @tieks are taking me to Vancouver Island today. #bcferry These are one well travelled pair of shoes!

First stop on the Pacific Rim-Ucluelet. Beautiful coastline.

The food on Vancouver Island was a vegetarians delight.  Farm to table at every turn. Grilled vegie stack with a little balsamic glaze. Happy camper.

House boat living in Victoria Harbor. I like the romance of it, but a little too public for me.

We managed to bring some of the best of the Pacific NorthWest back to Boston. Smoked salmon on the blog today for @MeatlessMonday with a little wine from BC vineyards.

Back to Nantucket and if you’re at all familiar with my feed, you’ll know I have a thing for aerial shots.  This one was a winner! Always hard to go, especially when this is what you are leaving @birdseyeviewmagazine #capeair.

Next stop, exploring the vineyards of Connecticut. The deer nets on these grape vines gave an otherworldly vibe.

Somebody is checking off his birthday wish list. Great Point lighthouse in the background. Fish for blues. #nantucket Last weekend finished off the summer with  epic summer weather.
