Brimfield Tweet-Up-The Final Chapter

Sep 2011

Here’s a quick postscript to all my other Brimfield coverage.  Who knew a rickety rocking chair could get so much ink?  I previously wrote that I was one of the lucky winners of The Traditional Home shopping spree.  Here is my finished chair in all its glory.

For my DIY:

  • After sanding the loose paint and re-gluing the joints, I used Benjamin Moore Paint #OC-10 White Sand
  • Fabric is  a beautiful feed sack from Pandora de Balthazar with loads of texture
  • Antique buttons and trim from The Button Lady

As I was sanding away – I found this label on the bottom of the chair.

Further investigation revealed that this folding Victorian rocker  was manufactured by EW Hill from Worcester, MA. in the late 1800’s.  If anyone has any further information about this company, I’d love to hear it.
Thanks again Traditional Home!
