Not Your Grandma’s Flooring

One of the eco-friendly products I’ve been most excited about is a flooring called Marmoleum.  I’ve used it in two different installations, and frankly, in both it really made the rooms sing.  It comes in a multitude of colors, some of which hint at a subtle Italian marbled paper.  Others simulate a wood finish, like the one on the left. All  use environmentally responsible pigments.
Ingredients read like a kitchen recipe: linseed oil from flax, wood flour from lumber waste and controlled forests, rosins collected from pine trees.  Even the backing is woven with jute fibers and installation adhesives are free of solvents.

Border patterns and custom cutouts allow for visual play & tailor-made design choices.

The surface is easy to clean and is warm and soft under foot. Like ‘butta’                            .

The result is a beautiful bio-degradable floor that’s allergen-free, bacteria resistant and very easy to maintain. Its competitively priced in the mid-upper range depending on design choices and installation.  Marmoluem adds LEED credits towards certification and can be used for floors, bulletin boards, counter tops and wall panels.  Its an all around winner. The next time you are thinking about flooring, give Marmoluem a look.
